Our country was forever changed on September 11, 2001. Alpha Telecom would like to pay tribute to those individuals and their families who sacrificed on that tragic day.  As Americans, we can never forget the heroes who acted so bravely in the face of unspeakable horror.

Every U.S. citizen has a duty to continually remember and honor the sons and daughters bravely fighting to ensure our safety and freedom, as well as those who have given their lives for this noble cause. May their sacrifices never go in vain.

Security and the Telecommunications Industry

There have been many changes to the telecommunications industry as result of threats to our national security. In the days following September 11th, Alpha Telecom played a key role in the cooperative rescue effort.

At the request of Nextel, we were asked to coordinate with the head of FEMA and the NYPD Fire Chief. Among the multitude of contractors employed by Nextel, Alpha Telecom is proud to have been called upon to enter the disaster site and help re-establish communications for Nextel. As a result, Nextel hand-held radios were given out by the thousands in an attempt to provide communications amongst the various teams of rescue workers.

While somber in nature, the tasks performed during that time provided invaluable experience to members of the Alpha Telecom team.
